IRC Meeting

Which aren't gonna be being kicked out. Aside from the fact that I don't think you could enforce that on your own, it will create a lot more trouble than it would fix, with having to deal with the ramifications of losing a member. So, as far as consequences go, it makes much more sense to go with something that has to do with what they're missing. IE, anyone who doesn't show up will have no say in what decisions will be made during the meeting, and decisions there will be final. For example, I intend to bring up some important topics that we have been too slow to discuss here, such as format. And if we do, indeed resolve that particular issue, I do intend to open up a section for early rping in that format.

Sounds like a good idea. I'll be there, but I should check right now for any reason I wont be able to make it...

Wasn't one of the biggest problem people complained about was exclusion? If you do this then they're just going to complain about it. Actually now that I think about it you guys never did have an official vote for Laurie? Why is that? Do those rules not apply to you when its an inconvenience? And yet it took a lot to get Techno in and even then they still complained. Not only is that a double standard but now you guys are hypocrites because you are telling me we gotta vote to kick a few people out.

Laurie was the only interested party at the time of Katrika's departure, so it made sense to let her in. In addition to this, she had been around since the last vote, when Techno was let in, and she was the second place pick, so it only makes sense to let her in that way as well.
Compare this to last time, when there were 4 or 5 interested parties, and we only had one spot. 14 was the maximum number of players we agreed upon.
In addition to this, we have always had to vote to kick people out. This isn't a new revalation or anything. One person cannot up and decide on their own that another person is not going to take part in this, without involving the rest of the group.

Nope. You gotta vote everyone in. You can't make exceptions to the rules!
It makes sense to avoid any confusion among people, but I apologize logic doesn't seem to be your strong suit.

Okay, on a different note, with less infighting, I've just been informed that not everyone was in on the decision to include Laurie in the session. As I recall, she was the only interested party at the time, but there could have been others that I missed. Would we like to bring this up at the meeting, vote on it, etc?

This is the first I heard of Laurie just being let in. I really think we should make sure everyone who has registered a wish to join be notified that the slot's open. I would venture to say that Laurie may have been the only one who registered immediate interest in the open slot because she was the only one who knew immediately. She does tend to hang out at the irc more often than many skaianet regulars, which I suppose is a recommendation. Still, I don't think it would be fair to just let her in without letting the others who may have been interested know. Anyway, I suppose we should add that to the list of things to be discussed at the meeting.

Speaking of which, why don't we actually start a list of that stuff? Not to exclude stuff that people think of to talk to on the spot, just to have stuff that we know we want/need to discuss. So here's what I've got so far:

Filling in Katrika's player slot
Format
How exactly we plan on making this hapen
Any topics brought up on the spot.

Snuff, that's probably as good a list as any of things to talk about. The rest can just come on the spot.

Decisions made in the meeting:

Volks is still a player
Laurie will replace Katrika
The rp will take place here and with character intros in MSPA second person style and the rest in traditional third person prose
Each character will have an rp thread for when they are rping alone, and will create or join a separate thread to interact.
Entry order was decided (see relevant thread)
IRC meetings will take place Sundays at 12pm PST / 3pm EST / 9pm CET

Has Laurie got a forum account yet? I'm asking cause' Nisaba is still there.

Not yet. I'm planning on changing that section and archiving Nisaba's stuff once she does sign up.

Whoops, I forgot to mention:
Tomorrow is my sister's birthday. I should be able to make it to the meeting, but I might either be late or have to leave early, depending on what my family decides to do to celebrate. It's her 10th b-day, so it's kind of a big deal that I'm there. I'll keep you all posted.

We are just swimming in birthdays it seems. Happy ones to all.

In the event that we run out of stuff to talk about as a group (which we really shouldn't) people should also think of things they need to do with other people on an individual basis. Things like interactions and such, which I know need to be done for several people. Just don't swamp Laurie all at once.

There's always next week, and we can always just TALK, together, everyone, about whatever is bothering us about what we're doing and when and how.
If people want to talk, all they have to do is ask. Once they're done, they can... post the results here.

Actually, talking can take place without asking, and should.

Just a heads up, I won't be able to make the next meeting because I'll be out of town. I'll do my best to make the one after that though, unless the family drama llama wants to stay for tea again.

For the record, because it wasn't completely clear to everyone:

We are having weekly meetings every Sunday at 12pm PST / 3pm EST / 9pm CET. Try to make it if you can, we haven't really had any discussion the past two weeks. If you can't make it, that's fine, but we would really appreciate it if you would let us know ahead of time.
