Build: Leland is quite skinny; not terribly emaciated, but a healthy sort of thin. He has a hyperactive metabolism, so he doesn't gain weight no matter how much he eats or how little he exercises.
Skeletal Structure: Leland's skull is slightly elongated, and his jawline is rather narrow; he also has a pointed chin. His shoulders are of average width, and his arms are slightly longer than average, with his hands resting a couple inches above his knees. Leland has very narrow wrists (a point of slight embarrassment, as he thinks he has girly wrists) and long fingers. He has narrow hips, legs of average length, and his ankles are a little messed up (Leland has walked with his weight on the insoles of his feet since he was small, which puts undue strain on his ankles). He has small feet for a male.
Musculature: Enough to survive, but not much more than that. Leland doesn't do much sparring or heavy lifting, instead choosing to solve his strength-related issues indirectly. When he encounters an issue that requires physical force and must be tackled directly, Leland often finds himself struggling.
Distinguishing Physical Qualities: Hair that comes down just past his ears, and a
chinstrap with a soul patch. His hair is kind of poofy, which makes him look a bit like a sheep. Narrow rectangular glasses with thick lenses. VERY nearsighted. Bags under his eyes from putting off going to sleep to do other stuff. Nothing too special with the teeth, though he doesn have extra-pronounced canines, like a bear’s.
Distinguishing Personal Qualities: Leland is a massive procrastinator and a marked introvert. He doesn't care at all about the hemospectrum; being raised alone from birth, he wasn't even introduced to the hemospectrum until his adolescent years. Romance, however, is a different story. Leland is great with his matesprit, and would make an exellent moirail, but he's never quite grasped the finer points of black romance. He has a kismesis, but he's so inept that he fears he'll alienate not only his current partner, but all potential partners, leaving him to be culled. Leland does enjoy spending time with his friends, but outside of one select circumstance (see: matesprit), he can only hang out for so long. He needs time afterward to relax, recuperate and recenter himself.
Outside of troll interpersonal politics, Leland enjoys staying at home, writing/listening to/playing music and gaming. Did I mention Leland loves music? Because he LOVES music. It's practically an obsession. Leland also enjoys reading sci-fi, fantasy, and humor novels, and loves puzzles. Crosswords, word searches, cryptograms, kakuro, slitherlinks, you name it, he likes it.
Leland can play most keyboarded and brass instruments proficiently, and has plans to eventually learn the rest, as well as other instruments. He collects various musical implements and instruments; he promises himself that someday he'll learn to play them all. Leland also collects Trollsformers toys, Trollcops paraphernalia, and certain video game series (primarily platformers and RPGs).
Horns: Horns shaped like sixteenth-note stems (the upward-pointing ones), based slightly above the ears and pointing upward at a 45-degree angle.
Attire: Leland is a bit insecure about how skinny he is, so he wears slightly baggy clothing to make himself appear a little bigger. Wears hoodies with his symbol over the chest, jeans, black converseque shoes. Prefers green/blue/black/brown. Has a penchant for knit caps with dangling pom-poms, but never gets to wear them because it's too darn hot around his hive.
Hive: Leland lives at an oasis in the middle of a desert. The trek to his hive from any point at the outside is a good few hours, which discourages all but the most purposeful and intrepid would-be visitors. This naturally plays to Leland’s advantage, since he prefers to keep his visitors to only a select few. Due to the arid climate on top of Alternia’s... uncomfortably warm days, Leland’s hive is underground, in a cave system specifically dug to minimize heat exposure during the day. There are ventilated “rooms” above each furnished room; these function as “inverted heat sinks” to keep the furnished rooms as cool as possible.
