Age: 9 sweeps
Height: 6’0”, not counting horns
Build: While not without a bit of muscle, he’s fairly skinny and lanky in appearance underneath his baggy clothes.

Distinguishing Physical Qualities: Short hair that is usually messy, though kept out of his face. He has short pointed teeth with two predominant fangs with a slight curve, like a snake's. While not always with a painted face, he paints his face white with eyes and mouth painted dark grey, roughly in the shape of a laughing face. The top of the eyes are rounded, the top of the mouth flat, and the bottoms of both are pointed, with the mouth having a softer point.

Distinguishing Personal Qualities: As a highblood and Subjugglator he is a firm believer in the prophecy of the Dark Carnival, a sort of mirthful apocalypse. At odds with the nature of his caste, Zubrae holds no contempt for trolls lower on the hemospectrum. He is fond of the dark art of Chucklevoodoo, though he doesn't quite grasp how to do it and instead makes voodoo dolls while awake; as expected, they don't actually work. In fact, most of his attempts to haunt someone's dreams backfires and his room on Derse is full of Chucklevoodoos he unintentionally gave himself. While he's getting used to them, his sleep is anything but relaxing. He is a fan of survival horror video games and cheesy slasher films, and finds scaring trolls to be hilarious.

Horns: Mostly vertical horns, starting from the sides of the head, near the top. Points outwards then begin bending upward before curving inward at the tip.
Attire: Black t-shirt with his sign in his blood color on it, grey hoodie, baggy black pants with purple stitching, and dark purple boots.

Lusus: Zubrae’s lusus is a giant cobra, affectionately called “Cobradad.” During subjugglator celebrations, he will let Zubrae paint his face and hood. He can go a while without feeding, and though capable to hunt for himself, Zubrae insists on tracking down prey for him; likely to prevent him from hunting his moirail’s lusus.

Hive: Zubrae's hive is almost entirely underground, built into a series of caverns. The entrance to his hive is on the tower standing above ground. Most of the hive has normal respiteblocks, though his lusus's lair is in part of the actual cave.
Respiteblock: Zubrae’s recuperacoon hangs above the floor from the ceiling, in the corner of his respiteblock, opposite his computer desk.

Land of Night and Illusion: LONAI is covered in a thick forest, easy to get lost in. The trees are all bare of leaves, giving a clear view to the night sky above. Many of the trees have faces with various expressions in their trunks. Stone temples, mostly in ruins, are scattered throughout the woods and are often home to the consorts of the world; though some simply dwell in camps in the forest. Navigating the forest is difficult as there are only a few ‘correct’ paths to certain locations. If one were to go the wrong way, they would end up back where they were instead of somewhere different. Like a house of mirrors, trial and error can be used to find one’s way around, which is time consuming, and if one does not pay attention to patterns, they could likely be lost for much longer. Shadows tend to have a mind of their own in LONAI

Excellent. I'll jot it in my notes. The thing is, though, what does the mage do? We know Sollux had prophetic visions of doom. So perhaps Mage = Prophet...
This would work well with your class, as it just makes sense. Prophetic visions of terrible things. Though it doesn't jive with some other aspects. Prophetic visions of wind? The mass of objects? Hmmm.
Not to mention if you don't like this interpretation of mage, you're free to have it be what you want. So what would you like out of the Mage class?

I actually like the Mage=Prophet idea a lot! Though, one thing I've kind of started building headcanon around was the ability to induce fear in others. Kinda like Scarecrow's fear gas. Or maybe Mage isn't the right class for that?

Inducing fear in others, hmm? Well, given that fear ties into your aspect, the "inducing" part is what's key here. Inducing immediately makes me think "manipulation." Which is the domain of the Witch. Now, we already have a Witch (Katrika), so there's a problem right there.
Though now that I think about it, domain over prophecy might include mental links to share that prophecy with others. Thus, since you prophesize specifically terrifying things...hmm. This is probably a lot more limited than what you're talking about.

I would think prophesy would be more related to the Seer class...
Also, it's definitely more of a passive thing, and I would think Mage would be the active class in whatever pairing it's in.

Not really. Seer is "comprehensive knowledge." This isn't necessarily used for anything prophetic.

But prophecy would be considered semi-comprehensive knowledge of the future no? I would think any kind of knowledge of the future from the present would be the providence of a Seer of Time. I thought Sollux's visions were more related to his psychic-ness rather than his class, although their subject was definitely associated with his aspect.

I'm perfectly fine with Zubrae simply being a prophet of terror. He doesn't exactly need to force people to see scary things to be creepy anyway. 8 )
