Entry Order

Now, when the hell are we going to start this shit and where are we going to be posting our pesterlogs?

Hopefully soon. There are a few other things we need to get sorted out, like if we're a post-scratch session, Alternia was just always Alternia and there was no scratch, or what. That can be figured out later since it doesn't really matter when our trolls are just wandering around their hive doing Act 1 style shenanigans. We also haven't decided all together if we're going to have teams or not, either. That needs to be figured out fairly soon, but as far as just pesterlogs and character introductions, we're pretty much ready to go. Maybe after we get a few interactions sorted out with our newest troll?

Everyone's interactions aren't even all filled out anyway XD

I still need a few people, but those people I need are BARELY ONLINE.

So since the last word on all of the entry order/gates stuff was to go with the Prospit/Derse dream teams, based on the original entry order. But then we still need to figure out where we put Atma, how that will situate with the rest of the group, etc.

Also, as far as the gates go, I do believe that they should follow the Beta Kids pattern, but breaking it down to cycle within the confines of the teams. So the order would be:
==>Elsewhere on your world
==>Your server's world
==> Elsewhere on your server's world
==>Server's server's world
==>Elsewhere on your server's server's world
etc.

OR alternatively we could skip the Elsewhere gate (which will give a significantly lower number of steps for everybody) and just get through all of the worlds on your team. Except... If it ends up being a Mobius Double Reach-Around, then we connect to everybody's world... Hrmmmmm

Help me out, guys.

I'm in favor of cutting out the "elsewhere in land" gates, seeing as they're gonna make things cumbersome as far as meeting up with other characters goes. The more possibilities as far as transit from one land to another (hidden transportalizers are going to become our best friends, methinks. They can be used to provide the same service the "elsewhere" gates do, just on a less dramatic scale) the more fun we're going to have together.

Now whether we want to just go to team-member worlds and stick with seven gates or go to everyone's and go with 14...

We could go half-and-half, going to 3 Prospit/4 Derse or 4 Prospit/3 Derse. If anyone wants to get that complicated.

Hmm. It'd be a trick working that out with relation to the entry order,since that's going to be team-based...

If we do decide to go 7-gates, we can use the aforementioned transportalizers to end up on other worlds. Having seven gates and using the transportalizers as the plot demands does give us a certain amount of flexibility that railroading us into going to all fourteen in a certain order doesn't.

Considering it's been a couple months without anyone opposing the idea, are we just going to go ahead and establish that yes, we are separating into teams? I'm for the idea for the most part. I just want this to be something that everyone in the session is aware of and agrees to. This means if you see anyone that doesn't come to the forum regularly, be in on tumblr, Skaia's irc, or Skype, or what ever means of communication you managed to reach them by, please let them know about this.

On that note: Several members of Sboard happen to follow me on tumblr, should I just make a post on there tagged Sboard to try and get their attention? I'd really like to get this sorted out as deciding if our characters are breaking off into teams is really important to getting the actual roleplaying started. After all, starting the game is the main point of '"Act 1" right? The whole "Scratched session, or not, or something else" problem can wait until the story gets moving and we're hopefully together again to figure that out.

So what order are we going to put them in? Morgan's first, obviously, for her team...

So the entry orders as determined during the irc meeting are as follows:

Prospit : Morgan => Kesper => Kaiser => Aerona => Skotad => Nereus => Brimon

Derse: Zubrae => Atma ==> Melean => Leland => Shayla => Lilium => Azrael

I'm going to assume that rp starting order is going to parallel this entry order. Then again, we aren't actually using the MSPA format, so it doesn't really matter when each person starts except from the perspective of how much faffing around on Alternia people want to be doing.

Also we need to get useable names/colors/whatever for the teams.

True, but I feel like that requires the people who initially make the teams to come up with something they deem appropriate, with the possibility of their authority being undermined in group dynamic shenanigans.

Please note that the Team Leaders don't necessarily have to be the ones who come up with the team idea, though I feel like that would be the most logical progression of things - a sort of divide and conquer to enable smaller sets of people that the team leaders can best organize.

{EDIT} It occurred to me right after I posted this, but perhaps the Team Names should be come up with as the RP is going? It'll be a bit before the actual game gets underway, so it makes sense for the teams to be thrown together and titled in a more organic fashion during the RP.

Works for me.

So, then, do we actually need to start rping in a particular order or should we all just start whenever we want/ feel the need to once we've decided to start the rp?
