| Hey guys, Nicekat and I were talking, and I was randomly reminded that we need associated items for each of our trolls! You know, like John's being oil/shale, Rose's being chalk, etc. The thing that affects the base underlings each person encounters in their lands. Also, on an unrelated note, Hussie did say in the footnotes for one of the Homestuck books that he originally intended for the associated items to play a larger role in each planet, similar to how John's planet was covered in oil. As an example, he intended for the gearwork on Dave's planet to be all gummed up with amber gunk. So perhaps we can do something like that. Anyway, Nicekat and I have decided on our associated items, so I'll make a list of them and we can figure out what each of ours will be.
Morgan: Lilium: Brimon: Shayla: Atma: Kesper: Leland: Granite Melean: Aerona: Obsidian Kaiser: Alnico Zubrae: Calcium Nereus: Coral Skotad: Azrael:

| Cobalt works. It's a kind of metal, and compounds made with it generally turn things blue (hence cobalt blue the color, obviously). I don't have any ideas for a liquid... | |

| Well, unfortunately, water isn't a kind of grist, and I had planned to have flooding be one of the major problems... | |

| How about Nickel? It's pretty close to both Iron and Cobalt chemically, and it's atomic number is only two more than iron and one more than cobalt. Maybe Alnico? Alnico is an alloy made from iron, aluminum, nickel, and cobalt and is so good at keeping its magnetism it's used to make permanent magnets.
Just some suggestions/trivia about metal.

| Alnico sounds like a good idea since my focus has been so much on the electric nature, electromagnetism, magnetism...y know, totes the same >>. | |

| Man, those are all good. Now all of a sudden I'm doubting my own choice of granite. I mean, granite is a given here, because it's the land of CRAG and pendulums. Rocks everywhere. Maybe I should think more about what my quest is going to be before I finalize my associated item. | |
