Moderators

A rather important issue that has occurred to people is modding. I've mentioned in THA RULES that I plan for this place to be fairly democratic anyway, but I don't think we should make EVERYONE a mod. I personally favor having a small amount of people with mod powers who generally do what the group as a whole tells them to. Thoughts/opinions?

I'm gonna have this poll be for the first mod and run another poll with the same list (minus the winner of poll 1, obvs) for the second.

I'm still a little iffy on mods myself, but now that I think about it, it would probably be a good idea to have two or three individuals with "mod powers". This would increase the likelihood that at least one would be on at all times, keeping all of us in line.
What kind of people would we want? Well, the same tings would apply as for how to be a mod elsewhere. Be committed, be level-headed, don't be an ass, etc.

I'm willing to be a mod if needed, but I am probably only going to be online in the evenings, as I have work, and they have a bit of an anti-internet/loafing around policy.

Well, the nice thing is, we don't really need someone to be on at all times. If someone starts doing dumb stuff, it'll still be there when the mods get back on.

In line with this thought, I think there should be at least one other admin. *shrugs*

Or a trio called "The Mod Squad," who prowl about the forum, wearing leather jackets and Ray Bans and instilling their own brand of justice. =D

Heheh. Well, the main difference between mods and admins is that admins can fiddle with how the forum is set up (eg adding new categories). There isn't really any need for more than one person to do that

Well being the authority on JUSTICE!!! I agree that adding moderators would certainly allow for a better layout for controlling disputes

3 mods sounds like a good number. I'm for it.

I concur. 3 is the magic number, after all.

We (at least, Lunar and I) thought you would already be a given in this, or even be exempt from the voting, since you're de facto above the level of mod already.
Edit: Wow, that is really hard to see now that i think about it. I think we need to do something about possibly changing the color of the words in the quoteboxes. But I'll post that to another thread.

Ok. I just noticed that everyone's nominating in groups of threes, which doesn't make sense if I'm there.

Alright, so I'm assuming that since we haven't had any new nominations in a couple days, that we're done with that. Is there anyone else who would like to nominate anyone?

If not, how will we go about deciding who gets the mod positions?
